Hibernia Wins Major Contract to Supply Revenue Commissioners
The Office of the Revenue Commissioners opted for computers from HP to replenish its staff’s PCs for the next two years. Following an open EU tender, the Office awarded contracts for the supply of both notebook and desktop
computers to HP partner Hibernia Computer Services.
With some 6,500 permanant staff in 130 locations around the country, the Office of the Revenue Commissioners has a need to replace and upgrade personal computers on a frequent and ongoing basis. “Technology is key to the successful operation of revenue, both at the desktop and on the road,” says Maureen Byrne, IT Manager for Business Services & Desktop Technologies.
“With an IT estate of our size, timely and value-for-money replenishment is vital”.

Bob Murray, managing director of Hibernia Computer Services, said connectivity and the capacity to manage expanding networks was becoming an IT priority for many businesses in Ireland.
“With the Avocent range of solutions, we can enable our customers to take control of their networks from virtually anywhere. While negotiations have been taking place in the
background, we have already put in place a dedicated Avocent team within Hibernia and have been skilling up this team in preparation,” he said.
